HERBS THAT CAN INDUCE DIURESIS TO ELIMINATE DAMPNESS

BI XIE
bitter and neutral
Liver, stomach and bladder
-Induce diuesis to remove turbid dampness
-disperse wind damness
Stranguria with rice-water like urine ***
Leukorrhea with a white coler which comes from downward flow of dampness due to spleen deficiency
Dispersing wind dampness
10-15g
(With wind cold damp, combine with warm herbs, and vice versa.)


YIN CHEN HAO
-Clear damp heat and induce diresis
-Relieve jaundice***
-Clear eczema by oral or external use
Jaundice, used as the main herb for jaundice***
Jaundice with obvious oliguria
Jaundice of yin type
Eczema marked by itching and yellow secretion: (Used orally or externally.)
10-30g



DI FU ZI
Bitter and cold
Bladder
-Clear away heat and induce diuresis
-Stop itching
Oliguria or painful, difficult stranguria
Eczema marked by itching and secretion
10-15g


DONG GUA
Sweet and slightly cold
Lung and small intestine
-Induce diuresis to relieve edema
Edema, especialy that with heat
10-30g


CHI XIAO DOU
Sweet, sour and bland'heart and small intestine
-Induce diuresis to relieve edema
-Remove toxic materials and drain pus
Ascites or edema of beriberi
Carbuncles or sores due to toxic heat
For carbuncles without rupture
Remove dampness to treat jaundice
10-30g


ZE QI
Pungent, bitter, slightly cold and toxic
Large Intestine, small intestine and lung
-Induce diuresis to relive edema
-Dissolve phlegm and relieve cough
-Dissipate nodules
Ascites or edema on the limbs and face
Cough due to lung heat or cough and asthma due to phlegm
Scrofula (Used orally after prepared into paste or for cases with fistula, smeared over gauze and inserted into the fistula.)

BIAN XU
Bitter and slightly cold
Bladder
-Induce diuresis to relieve difficult urination
-Kill worms to arrest itching
Scanty dark urine or difficult and painful urination
Eczema or puritus
10-15g


QU MAI
Bitter and cold
Heart, small intestine and bladder
-Induce diuresis to relieve stranguria
Scanty dark urine or difficult and painful urination
Amenorrhea due to blood stasis
10-15g


DENG XIN CAO
Sweet, bland and lsightly cold
Heart, lung and small intestine
-Induce diuresis to relieve stranguria
-Clear away heart heat to relieve restlessness
Difficult and painful urination in heat patterns: (Suitable for mild cases)
Restlessness, infantile night crying or convulsion due to heart heat
Tonsilitis: (External use in powder form)
1.5-2.5g


DONG KUI ZI
Sweet and cold
Large intestine, small intestine and the bladder
-Induce diuresis to relieve stranguria
-Promote secretion of milk
-Moisten the intestines
Oliguria, edema or difficult and drippine urine
Distending pain in the breasts due to retention of milk
Dry stool
10-15g
CC: Used carefully for pregnant woman
